This week I have the pleasure to share with you a conversation with Mabel Ninan. Mabel grew up in a minority Christian community in India and is now a non-fiction writer, speaker, wife, and mother living in the United States. Today we discuss how God has woven her story as an immigrant into the larger story of our home and identity in Christ. She’s so passionate about this topic that she just wrote a book about it that comes out tomorrow!
We’ll discuss it in this episode, so be sure to check it out—it’s called Far From Home: Discovering Your Identity as Foreigners on Earth.
Topics Addressed:
- Mabel’s transition from India to the U.S.
- How God turned her sense of purposelessness into purposefulness
- Where is our true home?
- How can having the same home inspire unity?
- How is Christianity different in India compared to the U.S.?

Leave a Review
It would mean a lot to me if you took a moment to leave a review of Have Hope; Will Travel. Not only do they make me feel good, reviews are how other listeners find the show and how other guests know their stories will be safe here. Think of it as your part in helping us find fun guests (we also take recommendations if you have ideas of who or what perspective you want to hear on the show let me know on Instagram).
