When I started blogging five days a week, it was hard.

Some weeks I had a shortage of ideas but more often I had a shortage of time.

I would remind myself that Jeremy Statton has a demanding job (he’s an orthopedic surgeon), a wife, and (at the time) four children. He and his wife were in the middle of adopting two children and he’s got plenty of other commitments. If he could blog five days a week, so could I.

Then he changed to blogging three days a week. I told him my self-encouragement was gone. He not me not to schedule too many shoulder surgeries in one day and I could blog five days a week.

Shoulder Surgery

Well, I’ve scheduled too many shoulder surgeries.

I’m not cutting muscle, I’m cutting words. I’m slicing articles for Prodigal; I’m sculpting The Write Practice posts.

I’m pretty sure putting a major announcement in the middle of a post is a big no-no. Well, I just made two.

Yes, you read that correctly.

I recently joined the editorial team at Prodigal Magazine. You may not see me much but I’m there.

I am also a regular contributor at The Write Practice. I’ll be hanging out there every second and fourth Thursday of the month. (Beginning this week)

Blogging five days a week was fun while it lasted, but it’s a thing of the past. I’ve got too many other odd jobs preventing me from giving five posts the dedication you deserve.

I’m going to strive to blog three days a week but you may want to subscribe via email (upper right corner) to be privy to the sporadic not-Monday-Wednesday-Friday posts. I’d appreciate that.

I’d also appreciate it if you tell me what kind of posts you want to see. I’m always open to feedback but especially now that I’m cutting back and having to focus posts more.

What are your favorites to read? What are you favorite topics? What have you always been hoping I’ll talk about but I haven’t? Or maybe I have and you want me to talk about it more?

Let’s chat it out in the comments.

Thanks, friend, I appreciate you.

I commend anyone who can post 5x a week for any length of time. Do what’s right for you :) And congrats on the new gigs… so happy to be a WP contributer along with you!

I did learn the trick to posting five days a week: get ahead. For example, I have five posts planned for this week. This was supposed to be Thursdays post, but when my internet died, I posted something already written and will save the half-written post that was supposed to be for today. I’m so glad you’re on the WP team too!

Me too girls – glad to be in the team with you. It’s challenging, but as the word suggests: hard work spiced up with positiveness and connectedness.
